A long long time ago I wore an orange blush as eyeshadow and quite liked the way it looked. (Click
HERE for that post). So I went and bought myself a fairly cheap orange eyeshadow (
Flormar Terracotta e/s in #M102) thinking I'd wear it often. And then somehow I forgot all about said eyeshadow until almost a year after purchasing it when I found it inside the pocket of one of my handbags, still in its plastic bag with the receipt still attached! Oops. Sign of having too much makeup?
Anyway, I decided to finally put it to good use, and yep I still like the way orange looks on my eyes.
I wore the orange on my lids, and then cut the crease with a matte reddish brown shade (
MAC Sketch - review
HERE). I then lined my eyes with
Australis Curved Ink eyeliner (review
HERE) and finished with 2 coats of
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion mascara (review
HERE). Overall I think it's quite a wearable look.
Because the eyes were so bright, I thought I should leave my face and lips fairly neutral but it actually didn't work and needed brighter colours to bring the whole look together. So I wore
MAC Everhip on my lips (a good dupe of it for my Australian readers is Australis Honky Tonk as swatched
HERE), and on my cheeks I wore
Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy (review
HERE).
What do you think of this look? Would you wear orange eyeshadow?
I love this look and I love orange eyeshadows - particularly the orange and gold shades. I got a gorgeous one from Inglot last spring that I L.O.V.E.
ReplyDeleteSo much love...
Inglot makes some beautiful bright eyeshadows. Unfortunately all the Inglot stores near me have shut down (why???) so I can't go swatch to my heart's content.
DeleteThis is beautiful!! I love a bit of orange in the crease with MAC's texture :) x
ReplyDeleteMAC Texture is such a pretty shade, I don't have anything like it so I might have to change that and add it to my cart next time I'm shopping at MAC :)

ReplyDeleteNow this is a color of eye shadow I could totally see myself branching away from my neutrals for. Loving orange blushes, lipsticks and nail polish (not all together) so why not eye shadow too. xx

It's a surprisingly wearable shade isn't it? And it's hard not to feel happy when wearing a beautiful vibrant orange :)

Could you tell me where I could purchase this blush and eyeshadow here in Aus? Looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteLoving your blog btw!
Hi Kate, I bought the blush from an ebay store (http://stores.ebay.com.au/Mirror-Mirror-Beauty) and I was very happy with their service. The eyeshadow is from Flormar, unfortunately the actual shop has closed down but they have an online store here http://flormar.bigcartel.com I've never bought from their online store so I can't really tell you what they're like.
DeleteAnd thanks for reading my blog! :)
Thank you!
